For years, like many other women, I thought you had to make a choice. You either wore silver jewelry or gold. Until one day I wore a silver bracelet with a gold one. Instead of clashing, the colors did the opposite: they enhanced each other.

Not much later, I started combining my rings as well. My collection mainly consisted of silver rings, but when I added my first gold stacking ring, I discovered how much warmth a small accent of gold can give. Since then, I have also started incorporating that combination into my designs.

Why stacking rings in gold and silver combine so well

While many ring sets consist of one metal color, I like to play with contrast. The cool shimmering silver, the dark oxidized silver, and the warm glow of gold together create much more depth. It is precisely this subtle interplay of light and dark that makes a ring stack interesting to keep looking at.

I design my stacking rings so that you don't have to buy everything at once. Maybe you start with a simple silver ring. Later, a ring with a gold accent will be added. For some designs, I use 9-carat gold. This maintains the warm appearance of real gold, while the ring remains more affordably priced.

In my studio, I don't use gold to make a ring as striking as possible.

It's a small detail – a gold bead, a delicate gold beaded wire, or a handmade gold bezel setting – that can give a design warmth without losing its calm appearance. Many women wear a gold wedding ring daily, while their other jewelry is silver. A stacking ring with a subtle gold accent then creates a beautiful connection between the two.

The beauty of stacking rings is that you don't have to choose everything at once. I don't design complete sets. I design rings that find each other.
