In our collection of Dutch knot jewelry we proudly present a silver Pandora pendant necklace with Goes button. The typical Dutch knot jewelry goes back to the end of the 17th century. At the time, men in Dutch costumes throughout the Netherlands wore these buttons on their vests, jackets or collars. Later, ladies started wearing them as jewelry, mainly as hat pins or brooches.
The buttons were made of silver or gold and were a status symbol at the time: the larger the button, the richer and more important the wearer.
Over the centuries, Zeeland buttons were increasingly incorporated into jewelry in a contemporary manner. For example in a ring, pendant, earrings or brooch and after 1910 they were mainly worn in Zeeland, hence the name 'Zeeland knot'.
The jewelry from the Dutch Button collection is handmade, according to the tradition of the filigree technique, affordable and recognizable by the open back of the jewelry.
The silver chain is 1.9 mm thick and 45 cm long. This jewelry is ready for shipping and comes in a jewelry gift box.
